An AIA-Orange County Society lecture by
the eminent paleoanthropologist
Dr. Donald Johanson on May 5,
2010 was co-sponsored by, and held at, the prestigious
National Academy of Science and Engineering in Irvine, CA, as part of
their Distinctive Voices series. The lecture was the largest attendance
ever for our AIA-OC Society. Over 385 people were accommodated at the Beckman Center (see
photo), while over 150-200 folks had to be turned
away. After the lecture Dr. Johanson signed books
and happily obliged in photo ops with lecture attendees. All
agreed that it was the most prestigious and well publicized event that
our society has ever held.
Dr. Johanson said it was one of the best lecture experiences he has
ever had and hopes to continue a relationship with our
society.
On
Saturday, April 24, 2010, fourteen members and friends of the AIA-OC
